I frequently find my dreams disturbed by the ghost of a headless rooster in a cage. Instead of crowing and despite its lack of a mouth, it talks like a parrot, alternating between "I'm Roddie" " and "Voice of reason". Every so often, it shrieks "Peter Harry" and rattles the cage furiously. It seems to want to know the name of its former owner but I am unsure whether "Roy" is out of date and whether "Dawlish Man" would be a better name to pass on. In any event, I would like to recommend "Sister Pelagia and the Red Rooster" or any other book by Boris Akunin. Don
