Closing for good tomorrow, 21/02/10 Will anyone miss it? Will the Eyes of Dawlish lose his informers?

There are still more than enough pubs in Dawlish - we just need a few more decent eating establishments.

A pub with no football and yobs would be good! ..it works in other towns why not Dawlish.

Marine Tavern has no football or yobs.....it just needs a few lights inside , just to brighten it up a bit.

Oh yes, thank you forgot that one...nice food too and good welcome, I took some visitors there during summer holidays.

@Dawlish Man. have you tried jt's at the swan? http://www.jtscatering.com/index.html mr & mrs investigator have eaten there on a number of occasions and enjoyed it very much.

We've not eaten in there, only ever had a quick drink in there, however the menu does look very good for a pub - we'll be sure to try it soon. Thanks.

On Eyes of Dawlish Facebook..all the kiddywinks are on about it reopening is that right and has it a new landlord?

I do believe that some certain brothers, well known in Dawlish, have purchased it and are going to convert it into flats. Who believes the Eyes on faceache anyway?

Yes true.. the group does seem to be about 'picking' faults with the town. Be nice if someone started a group on good things about the town...guess nobody would want to join that!

'Dawlish Rocks My Socks' is a group on there that I belong to. Likewise the one called 'Dawlish Warren'. There are plenty of other group too that are much more than just one person's ego-trip. So. Who ARE these brothers?

So my investigations have found out, that it is the Barton bros who have purchased it.

They own the Lansdowne. Ace cleaning. Remember them? They used to own that also.
