COME ON DAWLISH!!! This is from the Echo Express: Dawlish Town will be looking to make home advantage count tomorrow when they aim to overcome Brockenhurst and reach the last 32 of the FA Vase, writes Chris Rogers. Manager Jeff Evans' wish of a home tie against non-Western League opposition was granted when the Wessex League side were drawn to visit Sandy Lane in the third round proper (3pm). The Seasiders are unbeaten at home this season, and another win tomorrow would also guarantee £1,300 in prize-money. But Evans still has several injury worries that will keep him from deciding on his starting line-up until tomorrow morning. Goalkeeper Steve Johns is still doubtful after picking up an ankle injury at work a fortnight ago, so Evans has signed former Weston-super-Mare reserve team stopper Luke Purnell as emergency cover. Purnell will start if Johns doesn't make it.
Soooooooo, the Seasiders are through to the 4th Round of the FA Vase for the first time since 1990/91, after a thrilling 3-1 win over Brockenhurst, after extra time. The draw for the last 32 of the competition is later today, so bring anyone on! Well done Dawlish - I only hope that we can repel the advances of Dorchester Town for our crown Jules!
