Gatehouse school has one confirmed case of swine flu. Has anyone any more information of suspected cases?

let's not start panicking ... seasonal flu has been a killer for years... i have young kids and i worry about everything that could affect them- sadly, i knew this was only a matter of time...HOWEVER- It's flu of a form- until it (if) it mutates ( did avian flu?- or was it media/ govt. propaganda?)- see Via-4549, I am not totally subservient!

If you or your children have asthma/ heart problems, contact NHS Direct now- otherwise, keep a stiff upper lip & seek advice as soon as you have any concern.

For Mr Harry & his cohorts, viaduct, 4549 jpd etc. no matter what you think you know about me, if i am to believe you are senior citizens, i would support any action you want to take to safeguard your welfare.... however, if you are 40-50 with no known health issues, OUR BATTLE COMMENCES!

Oh dear, lazy racism. I wonder which one of the mob it is?

Racism is often excused amongst the more older aged citizens, because "it's a generation thing". I say bollocks. Racism is racism and it has no part in the 21st century, no matter how old you are.

Roy,
That is something we will always agree on.

Roy & Don, as i am fairly new to the forums, (wish I'd never bothered, i fear user4549 wants to punch me in the ear)...

Are our common foes anything to do with rival taxi firms?

I know about the taxi firms only what I have read here.

I observe that your posts irritate User4549 as much as his irritate you. Both of you are well able to post in a less confrontational way if you choose so I assume that you both enjoy it.

I would like to say that I do not see myself as having allies or foes. It would be fair to say that, on recent topics, I disagree with you and with Roy very often. I incline more to "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?" than to "Regnum defende" (Yes, I did read it.)

However I have no problem with all that - I have spent my whole adult life disagreeing with most people on many issues. I am not interested in trying to convert people to my views but I am very interested in the reasons that they hold their views.

I agree about being confrontational, You will find from my posts the worst word I have used against FFEL699 is idiot, but when he calls me 'maggot riddled brain, senile and cretin, and wants to meet face to face I offered him the chance, any time anywhere I await his answer. I have only ever pointed out the facts to him which he cannot accept and just shows his anger, which is his right. but I certainly do not have to take his insults.

I do understand the problem you have with each other. Other pairs of forum users sre much the same. There is a temptation to feel that you are somehow showing weakness if you don't respond to an aggressive post but I think it is self-perpetuating and potentially endless. There are posters who think that, if they make the final post, they have somehow won the argument. I don't believe that, I don't want to repeat myself or to "win", so I walk away.

For myself, I have a purpose in each of my posts unless I declare it as frivolous. Whenever I irritate or upset someone who reads what I write, then I will defeat my own purpose.

I try to use humour to express myself because I find it a comfortable way to make serious points in an indirect and non-confrontational way. If some people miss the serious point or if they don't think it humorous, so be it.

We each seek our own way to communicate.

I was led to believe every child attending Gatehouse school was provided with a letter also the school took the opportunity of displaying notices at the reception area on Friday as it was their school Fete afternoon which many parents attended.

I'm disappointed that after 2 days away, only one other person has commented about User4549's lazy racism (when posting as Chinaman).

Roy, I can't be ar@sed to comment on DRUGUSER4549 as you call him, same old drivel from a no mark racist cretin (as some would call him, "mind how you go sir"). Don Pearson or PJD as he's also known couldn't be bothered to response either to my comment about who's who - I was the only one who came clean about my identity; to remind you all again my name is Dave and I'm an estate agent.

Hi, I have no real beef with user4549 and viaduct other than the fact that i personally believe that Mr Harry was not hard done by when receiving parking fines, he knew the lines were there irrespective of the regulations. They will not accept that this is my right to personal opinion, indeed as someone posted "why can't i accept that they are right"? because i don't believe they are, as many others around dawlish feel.
there was a similar guy on "that's life" back in the 70's and he was made a laughing stock by the show and the public, as no-one could see anything than a bitter old man seeking to cause trouble.

It should be evident that we will never agree, so maybe we should lay this thread to rest & hopefully we may find common ground on other subjects? (i have friends who i would not consider perfect and they would think the same of me, the attractive points outweigh their bad points).

I was looking to see what response i would get from user4549 about meeting, i took this avenue as i was getting tired of all the personal abuse. apparently he still wants to meet, but without sounding like an alpha male, i have no records with the police & i don't wish to acquire one now. If user4549 was thinking of fisticuffs that would be a bad idea and i won't be offering to meet. if however, if he has a personal vendetta, then i will have to wait for him to find me, but I'm not the sort to run away & it us to be recorded here and now "it was self defence m'lud"

Roy I have asked the webmaster to clarify that I only have one name 'User4549', perhaps then it will put and end to your idiotic theory that I use different user names.

Yet you fail to condemn the lazy racism.

I apologise if it wasn't you, however it was definitely one of your mob who then subsequently forgot to change his username back from Chinaman to whatever...
