Who makes/cooks/sells the best chips in Dawlish and the Warren?
I'm planning on doing a survey this weekend (the winning chippy/restaurant/pub will get a special certificate), but I'd like your opinions in advance.
Thanks in advance.
ive given up at any of the chippys in dawlish, not as good as they once were, go to harbour or finn mcools in teignmouth now worth the trip, value for money, and taste excellent
I didn't ask for the best chips in Teignmouth!
Thanks Viaduct, I'll be sure to include the Strand Hill chippy on my forthcoming chippy crawl. Does it sell proper mushy peas?
Any more for any more?
Have you tried them all? Maybe my chippy crawl isn't such a good idea then if it's already been done before.
Has to be the Model Chip Shop on Queen St for me everytime, hes a grumpy old so and so but his staff are very good and know how to cook properly, good portions as well even if a bit pricey but thats the same everywhere is it not?
The Strand is best for me and they have a reputation to keep located where they are. I went to Queen Street once, chips were not cooked properly, agree plenty of them, also felt the staff made customers feel a nuisance.
Thanks for the feedback guys (gals?). This weekend's chippy crawl is sure going to be a challenge.
Anyone else got any top tips?
Not Baileys. Think they use frozen chips rather than real spuds. Chips from the Chinese are good though! ;-)
Ah. Thank you my friend, I'd forgotten all about them up there. I'll def. be including their chips in the survey. Do I get a discount if I mention your name lol?!
try half roast chicken in barbecue sauce with your chips under £6 (peas also included but not the mushy variety)
too delicious on the strand do hand cut chips - proper ones from real spuds ! they do them themselves!
