Item on the news page, council proposes to steal and sell off sandy lane for developement. Can you believe any Councillor or MP anymore? Whenthe proposed takeover by Tescos on the football ground failed did people honestly believe that was it, I didnt. Alan Connett and his cronies would sell their own mother,with the housing developement planned behind the leisure centre on part of the golf course it follows that the rest of the land will go albeit to Tescos. What o other people think

i may have been a bit strong in what i said and wish to apologise for what i said regarding mr. connett

Apologising is a sign of weakness, that is why politicians have difficulty in saying they are sorry. Some may say it, but do they mean it?

my apology was for the actual comment against mr. connett i have no proof he would do this, i do not consider this weak. what is going to happen to dawlish utd ? the cricketers have already folded does this not leave it wide open now for what is proposed.

Is it not time for the ECC to be investigated also, as we all know the Auditors have refused to sign off on the accounts for many years due to irregularities. How much do the British Government pay DAILY to the EEC I believe its around £25 Million - please correct me if my figure is wrong -. I for one will be voting UKIP and hope we can get out from under the Dictatorship of the EEC.

Mr B Connett was a party to making the cricket field smaller in the first place - he is leader of the Teignbridge Council you know! He knew and does know what is going on. It is well known, that in spite of his best efforts - by saying Sandy Lane is not for sale, would not back the proposal to make Sandy Lane, "Village Green status", which would have protected it in law.
I know laws can be change and even revoked, but there would be another fight on whosoever decided to change things.
So do not apologise for what you have said about Mr B Connett, he is a slug as far as I am concerned. It is in keeping with the rest of the Lib Dems, who make out they are working hard for society, when the truth is, they are running up huge debts. Look at the accounts for Devon County Council (Lib controlled) when they are published in August, I think you will find the debt is rolling on close to a billion.

But hasn't the actual building up there been made safe due the Heritage foundation? Sure i sure something in the paper about a gentleman's effort in getting it saved because there is only two in the country?

its been made a listed building the pavillion that is, all it means is it cant be demolished and it would have to be restored sympatheticly, it has been neglected by tdc for years and is in a bad way

With regards the Sandy Lane debate and my views on it....I'm having a great time at The Sandy Lane, Barbados all paid for out of the expenses I claimed.
