Can someone please tell me what the small stone oval shaped ruin is at beach level at the base of langstone rock, below the Red Rock Cafe. Thanks in advance. We walk that way often and allways wonder what it was built for.

Hi. I always thought that the brickwork that I believe you're referring to is part of the sea defences and that the bricks were laid to to shore up Langstone Rock.

Many years ago, one used to be able to swim through a tunnel underneath the Rock, however that tunnel has long since been bricked up.
