Dawlish Discussion

Apparently the Carnival parade is to be moved from Thursday to friday night, with a general revamp of the week's events. Anyone have any views one way or the other? Whilst starting this thread, I'd also like to add that the Carnival Committee put a fantastic amount of effort into the Carnival, so pleas estick to comments and not a 'slanging match'. Just intersted in peoples thoughts.

Moving the carnival to Friday is a great idea!

Thursday was chosen as carnival day when the local shops had half-day closing and people would spend the afternoon putting their floats together.(many a year ago).
The carnival has become so large and popular over the years and having both the air display and the carnival on the same day must be one big headache for the organisers.
It's a good idea to separate the two events.

I also think that there is a lot of merit in moving it to the Friday.

I'd also like to congratulate the committee for all their hard work.

It's a big improvement. It always seemed odd having it midweek, when so many people would miss out.

Will the bath and raft race still be held on the friday evening do you think?
