Did anyone witness the four bright orange lights over Dawlish last night. It was approx 6.30 ish, travelling east to west across Dawlish? And it wasn't Santa!!! or was it???
An interesting letter in tonight's Express & Echo, a sighting of several bright orange lights moving slowly over Exeter on Christmas night at around 6pm.
I saw these myself on Christmas Eve. My husband and I took our young son for a walk to see if we could 'spot Santa', but unfortunately it was very cloudy that night. I'm thankful that we spotted these lights as my son is firmly convinced it's Santa's sleigh. However, a friend later told me they may have been Merlin helicopters with the interior lights on. Apparently, these helicopters are virtually silent and the pilot can be shut off from the main body, allowing the interior lights to be left on.
How true this is, I don't know. I know it wasn't Santa though as Nasa's website placedhim in India at the time! ;-)
Another sighting of orange lights on September 21st 2008.
Someone in Ottery St Mary saw two lights at first followed by four or five groups.
Just an orange glow not flashing. The person reporting this lives on the flight path at Ottery St Mary and said it was not aircraft.
At about 10pm , just past last night at least two of these UFOs were overhead Dawlish, but I gabbed the binoculars, and had a good look. They look like Chinese Lanterns or Fire Balloons, ( as A chap in Exeter wrote in the Express and Echo). Look here to see about them . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kongming_lantern or http://www.skycandle.co.uk/buy_now.html?kw=chinese%20lanterns&fl=340867&ci=3447617461&network=s&gclid=CI-74dD53ZgCFZCD3godoV4Dcw
