Web Master this forum is dying. I for one think it is a shame as there is nothing like it in the area.
I am may have been taken in by multi posting, but it seems to me many who used to post here have long gone.
Looking back on last years threads and posts I wonder where the ridiculous to the profane have gone.
Will this forum die or will it be injected by new blood, I will tell everyone I know who use the internet about the forum, but it is up to you Web Master to make it an inviting place for those who surf the net to enter,

Ann, the site hasn't died, the poster's have.
Dawlish is such a morbid place you know.
There are more old coggers per square mtr in Dawlish, than in any other place I know of.
They don't advertise death as it is an every day occurance. JD is the one to ask as to why you think there is a demise of this forum.
They all live in fear, or so we are told by our council, that they installed CCTV at great expense to aleviate the fear. Quite how that works is a mystery.

People say they do not come out at night for fear, or that is what we are told. I think it is more simpler than that, what is there to come out for in the evening, unless you are a drunkard like Joey Deacon, or that is what he thinks others are that used to contribute to this forum.

Oh dear - yet another identity. How boring you are.

Yes, it's all the fault of me and the rest of the members of my secret society...

Hey Joey, can I join your secret society? Don't get out much lately...

Of course you can Frannie. Just don't tell anyone else or they'll all want to join!

I presume you are ok with taking part in the initiation ceremony? To clarify, you're not allergic to goats are you?

Initiation is all to do with tapping up people.....I know of a couple who run a business in Dawlish who have been approached on numerous occasions to 'join' Rotary/Roundtable, even though they made it clear from the start that they did not wish to be involved.

Numbers are dwindling, hence the pressure to recruit. I know of others who no longer frequent the Most Unpleasant Inn due to the pressure from Protheroe's Jnr & Snr to get them to attend meetings with the intention of initiating them into the fold.

Pathetic dinner jackets, bow ties and cummerbunds do not maketh man.....just hide the lowlife within.

Ann,
I think that the quality of posts is a better measure of success of the forum than the number of posts.

There has been a reduction in the number of posts whose sole purpose is to provoke or criticise someone else. I would hope that people will be encouraged to make postings if they feel less intimidated.

But there still seems to be a high proportion of posters on here concerned only with flogging a dead horse and, lord knows, how boring is that! It would be nice if someone could start a post - any post - without it being hijacked by the special interest brigade. Of whom there seem to be less than a handful, but they have ended up stifling free debate on this forum. Perhaps I should suggest that they're tools of the council (or worse Wally Protheroe) with a cunning plan to suppress democratic debate with stultifying tedium. Or perhaps I could suggest they grow up - fourth form debating session ended a long time ago.

I agree Don, but I am not sure how these sites are funded, if at all.
In my ignorance I thought it had something to do with the ads that pop up when someone posts, if these dry up, will the ads and the income?
Also if there are only a few posters, the replies to any subject become predicatable, maybe I am being too cynical, time will tell
