Shouldn't let it bother you. A few years ago I heard from an NHS official that a 13 year old girl had gotten pregnant in Dawlish. What should worry you is the inbreeding that goes on, though I think its not as bad as it used to be.

Remember, young unmarried mums get priority for all housing and benefits. No need to contribute a single bean into the system. The workers will do all that.
Have their pleasure, have their brat and let someone else pay for it.Seems like a good system,eh?

Because the people who work get nothing.I am a 27 year old mum who worked right up until the end of pregnancies with difficulties, and went back to work to support my family. We cannot afford a morgage have been living with inlaws for 8 years and have been on the council register for 7 years but hey im married to my kids father,we both work and always have and we only have 2 kids and cant afford clubbing so we wont dont come under the critea for a house .council advice become single and have more kids you may then get a house.

So Matt, are you still with your childs mother? Are you able to provide for your family without benefits? When she fell pregnant was it planned?
All these things are relevent which is why some people find it a worry when youngsters rush into parenthood without waiting to grow up first. To be a good parent you need to be more than just a child yourself.

Matt, congratulations on the second baby, hope all goes well. It is refreshing to hear of a young couple working hard to make a family. I totally agree that sex education is lacking nowadays. But I feel what is missing is the moral emphasis - ie being in love, waiting to have sex with someone you care deeply for, not jumping into sex too early, avoiding peer pressure, and the consequences of promiscuity.
The 'mechanics' of sex are too prominent in modern sex education.

well, i want to know where i am going wrong. i am a single mum through no choice of my own yet i get very little help from anyone, live in a one bedroom basement flat, am told that i will not even get on the council list for at least another 4yrs, have to save up if i want to do anything, i don't smoke, don't do drugs and drink very little.
please tell me all you hard working tax payers, who think you have the right to slag off those in worse situations, where it is you actually get the idea that all your money goes to us single "scummy" mums. i would love to know so i can see this person and get some help myself.

hi im aged 21 and have a son, my girlfriend is aged 20 and we concieved a child at 17. we live happily in dawlish and have just bought are first home. why are some people so stereotypical and think every teenage pregnacy means living in a council flat and scrounging off society?

hi my parents had me when they were sixteen, i believe there is nothing wrong with teenage pregnacies as long as you can finacially support yourself. My parents did not plan me however when they found out they simply worked their arse off to be in the position they are today! We now live happily in a large house in dawlish. i believe that kirst should beat the stereotypical attitudes and prove ignorant people wrong, good luck!

Try using condoms or another bith control method. Instead of sponging of teh state. The more kids you have the more money you get from the social. People like me live in a tiny house and can't aford to have a child. and i really want one. I work so hard in two jobs and still can't afford it.

All the money is given to you scummy mummys
