This is more of a personal moan.
Last year my daughter applied to Kingston and Northampton University's after 3 years at local college studying fashion & textiles, but was unsuccessful.
She then obtained exceptional pass marks, waited, and applied this year at Liverpool and Brighton Uni's.Again unsuccessful even though she had her grades!
So what is the point in obtaining high grades when selection doesn't appear to take them into consideration.
No encouragement there then to do well in education.
Perhaps places have to be retained for:
1) foreign applicants
2) illegal immigrants
3) former criminals.
Dawlish Discussion
Uni
i totally agree with you, we work hard for grades then arn't excetped any were.
No Dawlish bred child has ever been to University.
We are still waiting for the first one. We are in for a long wait, by virtue of the fact that they are all thickoes.
I know this because I too was one.
Aaahh, but my daughter is not dawlish born & bred, so that explains it! She got her intelligence from elsewhere!
there are plenty of people that i know who were dawlish bornm and bred they have gone to uni,
'there are plenty of people that i know who were dawlish bornm and bred they have gone to uni, '
OMG. Its so scary. What is WRONG with you people?
I lived in Dawlish for 21 years and I don't know how to do long division.
Further up date on my original posting.
The WEST is obviously BEST because my daughter has just been accepted at Falmouth University in Penryn after an interview last week.
It was a fair old journey down for us but worth it in the end.
What a superb Uni it is too.
