Carnival Cheek
Now that carnival week is nearly here and you will all be bored I expect with the same old thing.
Beer drinkers given the freedom of the town pushing anything goes to the finish, Joey Deacon acting as chief steward to control the uncontrollable, stupid people studying form to see if they can pick the winner of the duck race, all culminating in the Red Marrows burning up pressious fuel, followed by an excuse for a carnival procession, for what?
Joy and happiness I suppose.
Doesn't take a lot to please some egg heads does it?
The carnival should be banned. It makes too many people happy and brings in too many visitors to the town.
I agree that the type of visitor that is attracted to Dawlish is something else.
How many of you locals have noticed an increase in dog crap on the pavements, since the start of the holiday season?
How many of you have noticed that you are pushed out into the road by those ignorant infiltrators?
How many of you have been caught waiting behind a sandwich board outside of a certain shop in the Strand, waiting for a gap to appear before you dare step out to go on your way?
How many of you are waiting for the holiday season to end?

The neersayer's at it again. He wants the carnival to be a failure! He HATES Dawlish and he HATES good news! He's even gone as far as to register on this website as "crab" (yet another alter-ego) and posted this (same old drivel) on the General forum:

What a grim little town Dawlish is. So grim in fact that half its residents seldom if ever venture to the town at all (so hideous is the experience).
High time 'the tourism makes millions myth' is dispelled. It clearly has done nothing for this town other than line the pockets of a few selected individuals, whilst the town has been degenerated into a backward looking, shabby chav enclave.
Alongside many less well located towns that have benfitted from investment, Dawlish is an embarassment on a scale only matched by the town's appalling reputation.
Is there any hope?
How many people are waiting for you to either drop dead or emigrate? I know which one I prefer for you - put it this way I wouldn't want to inflict you on another nation (Zimbabwe, excepted).

There is a poster on this website (namely Joey Deacon, or his pseudonym, Chicken Shed), who is trying to suppress this information in an attempt to promote the carnival (of which he is a carnival committee member).
Can a person be trusted who is willing to stop tourists being informed of important issues, all for the sake of making as much money as possible from those same tourists during carnival?

To confirm this, you will see he is trying to keep relevant water and coastal pollution information from tourists and residents by posting threads of articles from around the world.
Why would you do this unless you wanted to hide certain information to protect your vested interests.....namely, fleecing tourists of money?
