Can anyone recommend somewhere nice to eat out in or around Dawlish. Maybe within 20 mins drive. Cheers.

English food :-

Smugglers Inn, Holcombe
Beach House, Dawlish Warren
Anchor, Cockwood

Indian :-

Paradise Palace

There may be others but none are as good as Torquay or Exeter.

Takeouts :-

All are pretty much the same.

Royal Clarence may be a bit pricey.
If you like pub lunches then Jack in the green is quite pleasant. The Barn Owl is cheaper & quite pleasant.
There is also The Swans Nest in Exminster which is quite popular & closer to Dawlish.

For Thai food I quite like The Thai Orchid Restaurant, but its not cheap.

Exeter Quay has some nice places including a new Chinese, the name I can't remember, but both the food & decor are very nice. Its also very cheap for some reason.
The Waterfront is popular for pizza & there is also an Italian Restaurant.

I LOVE IT! Someone asks where to eat out in Dawlish and end up being directed (and going to) Exeter!!! That says it all. SOOOOOOOOO glad I have moved out. from Dawlish to Exeter. Best move i ever made. Whats the chinese called? I'll check it out - I;m ten mins walk away.

PS If you HAVE to eat in Dawlish its got to be the Smugglers. Good place.
