Greedy Tesco!

According to today's Gazette (30.07.08) Tesco are still determined to press ahead with their plans to build a supermarket at Lady's Mile irrespective of the fact that:

1. Dawlish only needs one new supermarket and
2. Sainsbury have already been given planning permission.

To add insult to injury however, TESCO will shortly be opening a Tesco Express store in Teignmouth as the full page advertisment in the Gazette bears witness.

So....they will have a store in Teignmouth and yet they are still angling for one in Dawlish as well. GREEDY!

Don't forget to make your feelings known about this. If you don't want a supermarket at Lady's Mile tell the planners at Teignbridge District Council, tell the councillors, and tell everyone to raise their voices in protest.

PEOPLE POWER!

Apparently this Tesco store in Teignmouth will be open from 6.am to midnight, 7 days a week.

Residents of Dawlish - BE WARNED!

You know how to stop Tesco and this greedy expansionism of theirs don't you? STOP SHOPPING IN THEIR STORES THAT'S HOW.

The more people shop with them, the more profit they make, the more profit they make the more powerful they become, and the more powerful they become the more they proliferate.

Vote with your feet. Go shop at another supermarket.

Would that be the supemarkets that keep getting slagged off on this forum for being so bad.. Make your minds up guys. I am definitely for using the local shops as otherwise they will close and our town will see more shops closing, but no good slagging them on one thread and then campaigning to use them in another when it suits.

I had in mind those people who already shop in supermarkets. Just asking them to boycott Tesco.

I already have! Stopped shopping at Tesco some time ago, staff at Newton were so rude and couldn't be bothered to show you where things were, checkout staff miserable. Why shop there I thought when the other two supermarkets are much more pleasant. I would point out that I shop locally as well.
Sent in my objection, hope lots more do too!

Yes, we've stopped shopping at Tesco as well. Haven't shopped with them since that debacle of a consultation exercise when they wanted to build on Sandy Lane Playing Fields.

Hi, I'm pretending to be new around here. Instead of using my full name, you can all me Mad, for short.

Like all of the different people above, I've stopped shopping at Tesco's as well. For me it was because I once spotted a councillor shopping there, and that made me feel all dirty on the inside.

I very rarely leave the house now, instead I get me food delivered at home by Ocado.

I hope to contribute a lot to this forum and make lots of friends. I hope all of the different people on this thread do as well.

All I know is that if I have the munchies at 1am and the only shop that happens to be open is TESCO, then hell, I'm going to TESCO. And then, if at 5am I hear my baby screaming and it needs milk and the only place that's open is TESCO then I'm going to shop at TESCO, regardless of whether or not they're expensive, or greedy, or they make you want to stay indoors and shop only online. And I'm sure most of you would do the same.
This is the age of convenience...we want everything now! and smart companies and business folk know it and clevery make money from it. Well done TESCO! Maybe some of these local shops should try staying open from 6am-midnight for a period of time as an experiment.

And ****** the people who are trying to get some sleep in their homes nearby then?!

Typical Tesco attitude.

If you know that you're likely to need a chocolate fix in the middle of the night then get in a supply.

And the same goes for everything else as well.

I've never met anyone with a typical TESCO attitude before.

Hi, I'm still pretending to be someone else. I'm mad as a hatter, me.

Did you know that if you re-arrange the letters in "Shopping at Tesco Supermarkets", you get "Oh, super! Taste Kenco, Mars, PG Tips!"

I'm mad, me.

If that's true (I can't be bothered to check) then I'm impressed. In fact even if it's not I'm still impressed!

Yes, I'm still on here pretending to be someone else. I'm mad, me.

Did you know that if you re-arrange the letters in "Every Little Helps", you get "Let every shop sell it". :-)

However, try the same with "Tesco On-line Shopping", and you get "Isnt English Co-op Open?" :-(

I'm mad, me.

You can't beat a good bit of posting under a made up name. I'm mad, me.

"Tesco - Every Little Helps" can be re-arranged to form "Let Every Shop Sell It Etc..."

I'm made, me.
