We come to Dawlish Warren each year because we love the place. On our 1st visits we loved all the little huts going towards the beach. Each shop sold their own goods and it was a good way to pass time if the weather was lousy by browsing and usually ending up buying many things.
I have been in the new building which i must say was vastly disappointing. We were in and out withing 3 mins as 89% of it was clothes. Please bring back the old way somehow...im sure im not the only one that misses it.

I feel the same as Sue. We have been coming to Dawlish every year for the last 13yrs. Just got back on the at the weekend. We too were surprised to see nothing was open apart from the beach pub. Not even the ice cream kiosk's open. We did go around tea time and even the bit of fair there was shut. First time in all the years we've been i have seen it shut. Only the arcades were open. No hot doughnuts or ice creams to walk back with. I think I was more disappointed than the kids, love the hot doughnuts...
We always walk down from Starcross, so its a fair walk for the kids, I can't see us doing it again next year. I think they will loose a lot of holiday makers.

it looks really horrible without the shops down by the beach and the indoor market only sells clothes and the prices are really dear it is because that is the only shop and that it can charge what it likes

We are going somewhere different next year.... we think it has changed big time too from when we fell in love with it. We were there last week (sept) and it didnt have that feel good factor anymore
