When were the sea defences at Dawlish Warren built????????

I remember playing on the beach when there were none of those ugly sloping sea walls.

Eeeee it was nicer then.

The boulders/rocks were laid somewhat later I think.There's a plaque on the wall somewhere saying that these 'ere rocks were declared open by Prince Umbopa Umbopa.
