@Vanguard - well said!!  a good balance to the usual doom-monger suspects on the site. @  Mwnl - is Bradford still the home of Harry Ramsdens which at one time (before being franchised out) set the standard in fish-and-chip dining?  I'll never forget the glass chandeliers.

Sounds like an interesting and innovative initiative.  I can't make the meetings myself but would welcome any feedback here from anyone who can attend - e.g. how practical is it, what skills are needed, how long to build your own home, and of course costs

Yes great walk but not that easy if you're not a regular walker.  The climb out of Shaldon is notoriously steep and if the weather is as wet as it has been in recent months the back lanes from Beacon Hill down to the estuary can get muddy/slippery/deep!  The last stretch back along the estuary needs a lowish tide otherwise it's just road walking.

We're going to need a bigger boat

Hasn't this been done before?  I seem to remember a dredger a few years ago dumping sand off the Warren to compensate for tidal erosion ..... or maybe it's just a false memory (!).
