The Police helicopter has a budget of around 900 flying hours per year. That's the contracted rate that they can't get out of. At this time of year ie the end of the financial year, if they still have hours not used the they will lose them as the clock is re-set in April. So even as a commuter town Dawlish has something to offer. There are many reasons to live Dawlish othe than shops...

David Force is doing an excellent job in driving the chamber of trade forward. The chamber in trade, in turn, is doing its best to promote Dawlish in every way it can, to the benefit of the town. After all the more people that are driven here to live/visit/holiday then the local economy can only profit. The more positive the townsfolk are, the better Dawlish will become.

To some extent I agree with wrigglers comments about the future of the town. Remember there are, countless other high streets up and down the country in a similar position with phone shops and charity shops galore. But I do think Dawlish does have something to offer. Anyone one of you who has ever visited Boughton-on-the-water in the Cotswolds will recall that it is a small town with a river ...

Dear all, Helen and I went before Teignbridge Planning committee this morning where our planning application was heard. We are delighted to announce that we were successful and the Council voted 15 to 1 in favour of our application. We are both very grateful for all the support we have received in Dawlish and would like to say a big thank you to you all! Willo

Just a short update to say we had the full backing of Dawlish Council meeting last night. I appreciate this Teignbridge will probably ignore that but Helen and I are most gratgeful for the Town Council, and the town for matter, supporting us Regards Willo
