Dear all - Just a thought, but if we as a group intend to stand against the present council, would it not be prudent to meet away from the Manor House. Its a bit like discussing your campaign in their living room. Plus you have the closeness of one of the first problems any new council will face and that is what to do about the town clerk. He holds the key to many of the issues discussed on here ...

Just remembered something important. Teignbridge Council operate an open public access policy. If you think someone may have bubbled you to the planning dept you have a right to see the letter, e-mail or record of the phone call. Just go to Forde House and ask for the planning dept. Also visit The Manor and check the local council meeting minutes to see if it has been discussed at local level

What is so special about a football club business that makes it any different to other businesses when it cant pays its bills. Shut it down, sell its assets, and pay its creditors just like any normal company in receivership. Its hardly front page news in these troubled times is it

Willo - Sounds like the Jobsworth has already made up his mind about your awning, still it saves you the planning application money. His comments sound like he has been briefed locally so try and find out which of your competitors or councilors are trying to stich you up here. As Ive said before just carry on till they come to remove it. Best of luck

Speaking of bringing in money to the area and not just lining the pockets of the camp site owners who as it happens already have plenty Do you have any idea how many people would actually attend a properly organized event of that nature and thus how much money they would spend on food, booze etc before and after such an event. My son works in that industry and let me tell you the air show crowd ...

Sorry Lynne but forgot to add the rave you mentioned was in the fields behind St Mary's cottages, was perfectly legal and arranged locally as a birthday party. The campers were only upset because they weren't invited and ask for the site owners Tuff time they realised there not the only ones who can do what they like.
