lovely picture @ZIGGY . The question mark now seems to have been confirmed on the Carnival's facebook page - ".....Joining the diminishing events in Dawlish the carnival is the latest one to be cancelled, this year. . We are still up & running & going ahead with the Christmas Market & Santa Run as we need to raise money for next years events." and "Just to inform everyone that ...

First cygnet appears!

From Dawlish Museum: The first of the seven eggs has hatched and apologies for the shaky camerawork but we thought you'd like to see the first appearance of the new arrival. It is hoped they will all be out by the morning ( Friday 11th March) I can only see the video on Facebook I'm afraid, not sure if there's a version on YouTube ...

I knew this would happen cyclist -v- motorist.  Shame as there's a really important point with the uselessness of the currently proposed cycle path, irrespective of whether it's used.

Are they historic?  The museum might be interested?

i've just read the gazette and agree with @Lynne 's comment.  oh dear.  ms purser hasn't done her media training course has she?! @Duckileaks i'm not sure exactly what they can do but there is a cic regulator and a complaints process. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/463751/09-1650-commumity-interest-companies-complaint-about-cics-leaflet.pdf ...

Hi Purfect - I think there's been some confusion.  There are two events.  The Let's Rock Exeter is not the same as the Radio 1 big weekend although both are being held at Powderham.  The Radio 1 Big Weekend is in May whilst the Let's Rock Exeter is in July. Not that I'm making excuses for the council paying £100k towards this of course!

@Lynne , don't you mean "free"? ;)

It could be very quiet in Dawlish this year, no carnival, no airshow.  Just the sound of tumbleweed blowing down an unused cycle path.  Oh well off to Teignmouth to enjoy the Pavilions.
