Can anyone explain why Dawlish Warren has such a tacky reputation? With such a beautiful area, why is it spoilt with so many tacky pubs and camps? As somebody explained on an earlier thread, "it's certainly not upmarket". It seems the Warren is a prime example of the junk culture that is spreading throughout this country of ours. If we are to keep such pomp and badge of prestige, then change the rules so ALL residents of Dawlish get to vote who wears the pretentious chain. Rather than the inner-sanctum of the dozen or so cronies who seem to perpetually vote each other.
