Banning smoking and allowing supermarkets to sell cheap booze were good polices then. Maybe the government have plans to bring down the number of pubs as they have with petrol stations. Perhaps someone reading this may have the time to look for connections between the Conservatives, the Supermarket Giants and the alcohol retailing network. The results as to who owns who and who has fingers in ...
I was right the Lib Dems are not going to support any new candidates for the forthcoming elections. All the old school will be standing again scratching one anothers backs and towing the Alan Connett line. As for the Conservatives same here by the looks with the exception of Mrs Mugford who I understand is to ill to stand again. Dont know of anyone standing alone and independant because of the ...
@Smokey The thread hasen't been hijacked the point being made is that it dosen't matter what anybody thinks about the Strand plans. The local in it for themselves councilors will do whatever they vote for and will get Devon County to back their decisions. If you have alternative views to councilor Prowse's vision then it looks like you will have to vote for the independants in May or the same ...
Guess what. Just had my second application to stand for council elections turned down. What a bloody stitch up the existing lot have, they have it sewn up tighter than a ducks bum. None of the major parties will support any new candidates which pose a threat to the exsisting councilors. So the only way in is to finance your own application ,which will end up getting blocked anyway. This place is ...
Would have thought something like that would have been subject to a 10 year guarantee just like most good quality double glazing, and if not why not. Not another job done on the cheap was it
@Vanguard As it happens I did attend both meetings and actually got asked to leave the second one at St Gregs for calling one of our most arogant councilors something or other. Yes maybe your right that 10% dont sound bad, but unfortunatley its always the same 10%. What about the other 90% oh well as said they dont care. In any case the usual 10% aint going to fall for this one regardless of ...
@ PJD wIith all due respect anything that happens to the Strand regarding traffic control has nothing to do with local councilors and their printed voice the Dawlish Gazette they only voice an opinion based on what thay feel will be self bennificial to themselves. Devon County Council have total control over roads and therefore Mr Clatworthy is the only chap worth listening to
I think there is another thread regarding the entire railway on here. So on the basis that the future of the line as a whole is under debate it would seem pointless trying to save it. As myself, Lynne and several others have said on here the town really needs to re-invent itself. The Amber Coast proposal is just a load of rubbish because it is based on spending money that nobody has. The number ...
@Vanguard I could be wrong here but I understand the building is not in a fit state to rent out or indeed have any use what so ever without spending thousands on refurbishment, asbestos removal etc. The next joke due for release is how much it is going to cost to demolish it. Ha Ha Ha
Take what you have over to Middlemoor HQ and demand to speak to a CID officier. Its your right. Make sure you get a crime number and send this with a copy of all your evidence to your insurance company.
