Did DTC planning committee refuse this application the first time it came before them? If they did, why have they changed their mind? If they didn't then do we know why TDC refused the planning application?
@Lynne , no reasons were given. it is odd that they chose to start purdah a week earlier than the rest of the country and that DTC followed suit as they didn't need to. One of the consequences was that we had to make decisions on several grant applications at full council when it would have been far better to have heard them in the F&GP meeting where we have more time for deliberation.

No, that you needed explaining what people love about Dawlish. But......I think you knew that already so your last post says more about you than me!!
They have planted up the three 'large cement pots' today and they look stunning. When the flower baskests are added to the bandstand it will make our boring pedestrian bandstand look a lot better. All the good work is a credit to Councillor Mary Lowther and Val Mawhood.
That really doesn't surprise me!
One final word on this topic....... perhaps......... THE 20TH CENTURY Dawlish has increased in population to around 13,000. There are many more houses in Dawlish but in many ways not a lot has changed – but perhaps that is why we like it. Big industry has passed us by and the change in shopping has altered the look of some of our streets, but for nearly a hundred years tourism is ...
Sorry, typo, Shaldon. Let's hope we do too!
Well said! Is there any truth in the rumour that this has already been turned down by Teignmouth, the home town of the artist (artist being used in the loosest sense of the word), and Shaldon?
