Ha ha, the youngish bloke behind the bar at the Ship doesn't welcome anyone if he's in the wrong mood, but the women serving food are nice enough, and the food is good.

I stopped going to the Mount Pleasant 15 months ago when I went with some first time visitors to Dawlish. I think Dawlish would be better off with a Dawlish Parkway at the back of the town. Currently there's not enough to draw any meaningful tourism - with a handful of cafes and B&Bs, it's a day out for most. @leatash . having taken everything in a bit more, i think you're right. stench pipes aside, a green bridge would be in better keeping with the rest of the town than the drab one we've got.
