Firstly, back on track. I drove along the a379 from Exeter to Dawlish last night at 9pm. The road was completely clear. Even with a completely clear road, the nature of the bends, pillars and parked cars did not allow me to exceed the speed limit to any kind of excess (no more than +10%). My personal conclusion is that you do not have a speeding problem. You may have incompetent drivers ...
If you have the space, get chickens. They love rooting through garden waste and say thank you with eggs. Obviously check on the internet the plants won't hurt them. For instance, tomato plants are poisonous. Before I moved to Dawlish my local council introduced the same scheme. I could not only compost all my own garden and kitchen waste plus my neighbours' on both sides. And my garden was ...
@leatash Yes, you right to point out that some people do break the law - which is exactly why the Police should be doing the enforcement, not high vis snoopers. When I'm driving my totally legal vehicle, at the speed limit I won't appreciate my attention being taken from the road by a bunch of legally endorsed busy bodies loitering on the pavement. Oh, and I do ride a bike. I have lost ...
I use on the stretch of road in question every week to visit my son. I would LOVE to be able to do the speed limit! The nature of the roads, the pillars, parked cars, double decker buses, HGV's and don't forget the caravans and lost tourists provides year round traffic calming. This is just a publicity stunt to keep some vocal locals happy and put a positive spin on the police. State ...
I have just returned from the Wednesday car boot and market where I attended as a trader. I should have known I was about to go the loser when my pitch fee was asked for before I had even unloaded To say it was poorly attended would be an understatement. The traders all looked bored to tears. It was poorly laid out meaning some people didn't even bother to walk up to the end of ...
Brilliant! Thank you so much for the suggestions. Will check them out over the coming weeks x
Oh! Well thanks for the warning. Thought I'd left that behind in the big smoke! As for the singing, I'm more of a metallica girl than Elvis! No offence meant, honest!
Hi there, I've recently moved to Dawlish in order to care for my parents full time and have to say am feeling like a fish out of water. I don't have lots of spare time due to my caring commitments, but would like any input for a nice pub for an occasional drink, or anything else going on locally. Over to you Dawlish.com! Thanks in anticipation x
