Five teenagers had to be rescued when they were stranded on a beach near Exmouth yesterday. The youngsters, who were said to be from Exeter, Exminster and Dawlish, were cut off by the tide on Sandy Bay. They were rescued unhurt by Exmouth Coastguard and given safety advice.

Dawlish United under-12s (pictured) successfully defended their title at a tournament at Newton St Cyres. Brook street is cordoned off whilst Police investigate the scene of a stabbing that occurred in the early hours of this morning. The victim, a 38 year old male from Hampshire, was taken to Torbay Hospital after the attack, although it is not believed that his injuries are life threatening.
