According to the BBC, a further nine Stokes greengrocers have closed across the South West after failing to attract a buyer. The Bristol, Exeter, Falmouth, Honiton, Sherborne, Tavistock, Torquay, Totnes and Wadebridge stores have closed resulting in 72 redundancies. A blue Fiat Punto which failed to stop for a routine check in the Mamhead area was chased by police. The authorised chase ended in Barton Terrace, Dawlish, where a 20-year-old man was arrested and released on police bail until December 9th. A Dawlish man and two boys from Teignmouth age 16 and 17 have appeared in court accused of 'physically and mentally' torturing a cat. Public pressure has forced a delay in the sale of the Manor House, Dawlish. The Town Council has decided to postpone the sale of the historic building after pressure from the public.
