I was waiting for a train to go to Newton Abbot yesterday. The waves were spraying up and over the seawall walk way. People were still walking on the sea side of the wall (and getting wet) instead of taking the more sensible route nearer the wall. I also saw a child standing right near the edge of the seawall with parents seemingly totally unconcerned. My heart was in my mouth. ...

Wow some of those waves were nearly over his ankles.

Did anyone on this thread actually make a FOI request? I would have hoped that if they had, then they'd have shared the outcome with us all.

The man was seen on the sea wall at Dawlish along with a woman and child as waves crashed against the wall at high tide. The three were seen dodging the waves which were breaking on the wall, sending spray 20ft into the air. See more... ...

A TORBAY man stole a car and used it to ram-raid units on an industrial estate in Dawlish a court has been told. He and an unknown accomplice then drove to the Daihatsu Fourtrak to the Black Swan industrial estate in Dawlish and rammed the roller doors of three units, stealing tools and causing damage of more than £1,000.
