Good call Webmaster. Will continue to expose the malfeasance of certain people who 'represent' us in our town. Ta

Clipped this from backyard. Could not agree more. all that posturing by our mayor in the local paper, in the ridiculous sea-front vip area (with his accomplices) and during the carnival procession, did nothing but expose the tin-pot vacuousness of mayoral office in the present climate. anyone that still takes this seriously must be living in the same egotistic, prestige hungry world, as those ...

Try a Bike Shop in Dawlish called Braking Wind (honest), they can probably give you lots of help/advice with bike hire/cycle paths etc. There is an enjoyable cycle ride from Powderham Church (Powderham castle & Estate), taking you along the River Exe and up to Turf Locks Hotel/Pub. J3 is right about Exeter, it is a very interesting city with lots of history; the Cathedral is awe inspiring. It is also a very cultural city, should you be interested in the arts or subcultures. There is a bird-watching boat trip up the river Exe.....enjoyable even if you're not a twitcher.

I wouldn't bother with Dawlish.....Teignmouth and Shaldon much more picturesque. Try Dartmmoor, Cornwall or North Devon. Dartmouth and surrounding area is very good also, but avoid Dawlish Warren....prices are aimed at gullible tourists and nothing there of any worth.

The front page of this weeks Dawlish Post hails the arrival of Tom Scobie, as the new Town and Villages Reporter of the Dawlish Gazette. At first, this appointment appears innocuous, but closer inspection raises the concerns that council/mayoral reportage may not be impartial. Mr Scobie sat alongside councillor Protheroe on the local council, both of them Lib Dem. Mr Protheroe is now mayor of ...
