As far as I am aware (and remember I am not a councillor so I only know what is in the public arena) funding will come from: 1. Whatever is left of the Sainsbury £200,000 S106 money (and this has to be spent by October 2020) 2. Whatever can be sourced from anywhere else eg GWR 3. The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) contributions that those building the new houses have to give to TDC.  ...

There is now a thread running on Eyes of Dawlish discussion fb about this matter and the town council meeting last night. If you can access the thread you might want to take a look. We hear a lot about town centres, across the country, becoming run down/having empty shops and the like. Why this is may be due to various factors but no doubt online shopping and out of town shopping malls with ...

On the matter of the three Community Environment Wardens - I've read that they only work Mon-Fri.

If you have concerns/wish to comment about this new Public Space Protection Order then you can make them known to the person shown below. I understand that the matter is still up for debate/discussion and will be on the agenda at the next TDC Overview and Scrutiny committee meeting being held on Monday 19th November where any comments from the public concerning this new PSPO will be brought to the ...

To answer some of my own questions. It seems that: The three Community Environment Wardens employed by TDC will undertake the role of enforcement. (Yes, that's right - 3 people for the whole of Teignbridge are to enforce this). and investigations will be made to see if the Dawlish water fowl wardens would also be able to enforce these new regs. from: ...

I thought local authorities are strapped for cash..........although that said, a bit of research has thrown up this company. Seems they don't charge the local authority anything but cover their costs by way of the fines they dish out. http://www.kingdom.co.uk/services/local-authority-support/

How will this be enforced? By whom? For example, how will it be known (and by whom?) whether or not a person in charge of a dog (or dogs) is carrying pooh bags? Will we also have ad hoc stop and search bylaws for all dog walkers in Teignbridge? Is this enforced? https://www.teignbridge.gov.uk/media/1617/public-spaces-protection-order-dawlish.pdf

Published on 30 October 2018 - New responsible dog ownership PSPO approved A new Public Space Protection Order (PSPO), aimed at reducing irresponsible dog ownership and making Teignbridge an even cleaner and greener place to be has been approved by Teignbridge’s Executive today. The PSPO will protect public parks and open spaces against people who do not pick up after, or ...

The playpark - costs To state the obvious this will depend on how big and what equipment it would have but to give an idea; Play equipment lasts about 10 years.  It also has to be maintained, repaired  etc. The previous large playpark design was costed at £250,000. So to use that £250,000 figure: Approx cost for annual maintenance: £5,000 (=£50,000 over ten year period) ...

The playpark and money I believe the GWR funding (which has now been lost) was just shy of £20,000.  I believe the project for which it was intended (the playpark) had to be completed by April 2019. The town council, earlier this year, agreed to pay a sum of £4,000 to consultants in order to try and find more funding for the proposed playpark. There is still some money from the £200,000 ...
