Brook still backed up due to the blockage at the entrance to the sea for the last few weeks! as of last night. http://dawlish.com/thread/details/45158

Still bunged up to within a foot fo the walkway yesterday evening. Normally has a good 3 to 4 feet clearance.

Does anyone use phoneboxes anymore? I always thought they were just incubators for germs. Where I used to live in the 1960's people used to vandalise them and/or urinate in them.

It has been proven time and time again how intelligent /social and feeling these beings are. @Goldenhammerman - i agree with you the bandstand was classier than the current bomb shelter. as to the church with the tall spire. it is not only still there, but i believe it is currently having a very impressive disabled ramp constructed. the church always seems very acftive when ever i go passed.

@Goldenhammerman - if the bandstand you are referring to is the one in your pic. that is not the one in place now. the current bandstand looks like a large concrete bunker with one wall taken out and a tiled apex roof. about the only thing that could rot are the timbers that hold the roof up and the wood batons the tiles sit on. Well those 'raised speed ramps' on The Strand were as effective at slowing vehicles as most things that happen round here these days. Loads of money for nothing. I don't think you could even trip over them they are so ineffective.

Just a few pics of the sea weed build up at Coryton Cove seen on the 8th Oct. Some of the piles were over 4 feet high.
