Why are they painting the Bandstand today? It needs knocking down and the millennium bandstand put in it's place.

@majorp ? why has nothing taken the place of the clothes shop in the brunswick? looks like a nice little shop there to me!

Back in 2008 there was a project undertaken to identify how the town centre (which therefore also includes the lawn area) could be improved. I believe this was called The Yellow Book. I cannot find any online links to the recommendations from this project (although I could until fairly recently) so can't post a link to it on here. I believe that part of the lawn would be suitable to be turned into a small lake, forget kiddies play areas, there is the beach.

Taking a broader outlook on what might happen-I don,t know, But it doesn't look very good. I have been told that many cafe's are closing in Exeter, could the same soon be happening in places like Dawlish. What attracts people to Exeter now? Add the price of a parking ticket to your shopping and it becomes quite an expensive place to shop. Places like Primark are doing well but the likes of ...
