ive nothing against Sainsburys, but to say its the best thing to happen to dawlish, you must have a very sad life!!!! Dawlish Town Centre will be out there soon best build a lot of new shops and then the Strand can be pedestrianised and turned over completely to cafes and charity shops for wondering to sit and have his/her cake
but are they spending money!!!!!! go along and ask how much the bakers, veg shop butchers and coop have lost, and then come back and comment. Ive asked them and their takings are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy down, the last thing we need if we want to keep our town centre is total pedestrianisation or 5 weeks of utility works at this crucial time. I expect you shop at Sainsburys now

Anybody heard that the Strand is going to be closed for 5 weeks for utility work?
The knockon effect is awful, optimistic as I am Im beginning to feel sorry for every retail shop in Strand !!!!
I also went there today, ok I suppose as any supermarket goes, nothing to shout about, swings and rounabouts on prices. Some things in there Coop dont sell simirlarly some things I wanted couldnt get, so I will stick to Coop with an occasional visit to Sainsburys
exactly what we do moh, but do bring them home occasionally, finn mcools is great too, never bother with Dawlish chippys even rock and sole never had a good bit of fish in there, it was alright when Andros had it!!!!!!!!
Quite agree!!!! gave up going in there and any of the others ages ago, rather drive over to Teignmouth where not only do you get pleasant service but also good fresh fish and chips!!!!
