Exactly my point - It's people who have not booked it who are abusing it. ie: the ones who climb over from the bowling green & DCC sides.
Don't get me wrong, I am all for people (especially the kids) having somewhere to kick a ball about and the old facility was fine. All I am saying is that if so much money has been invested in this facility, then it needs to be protected and properly managed. I wouldn't worry though - give at a few months and the leisure centre will get lax at policing it and just leave it un-locked like ...
Bikes being ridden around on it. (Witnessed) Hockey nets ruined by people playing football. (Ask the leisure centre) Broken Glass on it (Have people who have booked it done this?) Lock cut off gate when locked (Ask the leisure centre) Fence damaged when gate was locked (Ask the leisure centre) Tennis Nets kicked over and seprating curtain ripped down (Witnessed)
Sensible & Correct Decision by TDC. The old facility was abused and vandalised. FACT.
