Wrigley, instead of getting behind Mr Bowes-Roden’s campaign had to go and launch his own didn't he. He's just salty that someone got their before him.
Foden and the Liberal Democrats make a big deal about the Number 2 Service and 'campaign' for a more frequent service during the run-in to elections. This shows she has no clout and her campaigning achieves nothing.
Dawlish Town Council is a clique who think themselves better than the rest of us. That article just further emphasizes what arrogant members they are.
It'd be interesting to know whose comment this was in the article linked above; ‘We must all come together for the greater good of the town, and not just our own selfish needs. ' Who does this Councillors or Council spokesperson consider was being selfish?
Mentioned on the other thread about this pub - it has been referred to as an 'uninsurable event'. Some might call it 'an act of God'. Both of which seems a load of BS as the pub was just neglected over a long period of time and the issue was well known. And yeah, bizarre how a pub is seen as a 'community asset', whereas public toilets are not.
The pub wasn't wrecked in one solitary bad weather event. It fell into disrepair through long-term neglect resulting in a massive crack. "Before the wall collapsed a large crack, visible from the outside , had been investigated. A build-up of water may have penetrated the crevice and destabilised the cob construction."
@1263 On insurance, it has been referred to as an 'uninsurable event'. Some might call it 'an act of God'. Both of which seems a load of BS as the pub was just neglected over a long period of time and the issue was well known. Or is neglect now classed as 'an act of God'?
Was there really ‘overwhelming’ agreement to support further exploration into buying the 17th century pub with the aim of running it as a community pub? Or is that just what the MDA and Wrigley want us to believe? The Dolphin in Kenton isn't comparable as half of it hasn't crumbled to bits.
@burnside The Town Council, so the likes of Linus Dawson and the rest of the Lib Dem mafia.
@1263 I didn't need to.
