THE FAMOUS Black Swans of Dawlish are laying eggs again. One egg has appeared on the nesting site in rushes alongside the Brook so far. Resident Noreen Goodchild has captured images of the latest developments.

HEAVY rain has caused water levels in Dawlish to rise, prompting campaigners to repeat calls to tackle the flood risk to the town. Historian and campaigner David Force says the recent downpours have strengthened their demand that the Brook, the main waterway through the centre of Dawlish, needs to be maintained.

A DAWLISH hair salon owner has raised more than £1,000 for an animal rehoming charity. Chrissy Marks of Signature Hair and Beauty raised £1,281 for Saving Pound Dogs Cyprus (SPDC). Throughout December, Chrissy raised money from selling wares at Christmas markets, as well as donations made by her customers.

DAWLISH will be in the national cycling spotlight this summer as British Cycling announces the 2025 series. British Cycling is to host the Dawlish Grand Prix in July as part of its elite road and circuit calendar.

A BRAVE charity volunteer has been taking a daily dip to raise money. Debbie Sewell, 62, who volunteers for the Dawlish-based Roots Community Enhancement, has completed her Twelve Swims of Christmas.

A Devon care home group has been crowned as employer of the year at a major national awards. Teams of carers from its care homes in Exeter , Plymouth , Seaton, and Dawlish . attended the National Care Awards at the Excel in London, and the Caring UK Awards in Leicester.
