THE SON of a stalwart of Dawlish Museum is to tackle a 145 bike ride to raise money for Rowcroft Hospice. Retired nurse Jenny Gibson was chairman of the popular museum in Dawlish before her death from cancer.
MARINA Bowling Club Dawlish have made a great achievement in the Mid Devon League Division One by being promoted to the Premier League for next season- the first time in Marina’s history!. The top two teams go up and Marina are currently on 124 points, with a win in the final match set to take their tally to 138, two less than champions elect Torquay.
WATCH: swans nesting site. THE ICONIC Black Swans of Dawlish have started laying another clutch of eggs. The pair has chosen the same location as back in January to lay their next eggs, in rushes next to a footpath which runs along the Brook.
Tributes have been paid to a devoted dad and grandad from Tiverton following his death last month. Last week, the family of Marilyn Jones paid tribute to the loving mum who died in Dawlish last month at the age of 71.
FOR the fourth time, Kirsty Fordham has braved a head shave, this time on her birthday. Her family and friends were also at the Strand Centre in Dawlish to watch. Friend Kaz Webb did the honours with the clippers and before long, Kirsty, who suffers from alopecia, no longer had her shoulder-length brown hair.
A POPULAR night club for the over 60s in Dawlish is proving a hit with dancers and charities. Launched in April, the monthly club gives the older population a chance to strut their stuff on the dance floor at the Strand Centre.
