NEWTON Abbot Eagles closed the gap to eight points at the top of the South Devon & Torbay Table Tennis League first division, despite losing to Halwell A. NA Buzzards hold on to the top spot with the Eagles moving into the runners-up spot thanks to an excellent maximum from Paul Davey as they lost out to Halwell A 6-4.

A devastated couple who saw their wedding cancelled the night before their big day thanks to Storm Darragh have managed to tie the knot after all - with things turning out perfectly. Paul and Jason Wilson-Sellars, from Shillingford, were due to be wed at The Manor House in Dawlish on Saturday, December 7, alongside nearly 100 of their nearest and dearest.

DRILL testing by South West Water has now moved onto the Lawn in Dawlish ahead of a major year-long improvement scheme. Exploratory work had started in Sandy Lane. Now machinery and equipment on the Lawn is testing the area where a large, new storage tank is due to be situated underground to store waste water at times of peak rainfall.

MORE than 80 people turned out to a meeting to organise setting up a volunteer force to clear up Dawlish Brook. WADE, Waterways Around Dawlish Environment, was set up in response to serious concerns over the state of the town’s ‘jewel’.

Nothing - not even the storm clouds over Dartmoor - would deter the music lovers of Dawlish from coming to St. Gregory’s Church to hear Dawlish Choral Society’s performance of English Music, writes Christina Siviter.

A DAWLISH carer has been named care worker of the year at the South West regional finals of the Great British Care Awards. The awards recognise the excellent work of care providers and individual carers within the care industry.

Work is under way to restore the ‘jewel in the crown’ of Dawlish . Volunteers are being trained to carry out work to reverse what campaigners have described as a ‘decade of neglect’ for Dawlish Brook.

I'm sure that all the councillors and our glorious(?) MP will be down there at the start when the cameras will be there and disappear asap when the cameras are gone, never to be seen again.
