An 18 year old who died on the railway tracks near Teignmouth station just before Easter has been named by Exeter Coroner’s Court. Student Will Holden, from Bishopsteignton died of a head injury after being struck by a train on the tracks between Teignmouth and Dawlish on Thursday, March 28.

Popular Devon busker Jerri Hart is facing a six-month stay in hospital after breaking his neck while walking through woods in Dawlish . The 60-year-old, who always pulls in a big crowd with his jazz singing and trumpet playing, fell down a ravine while on the way back to retrieve something from his car.

A FLY-TIPPER who dumped waste in Dawlish has been successfully prosecuted. Teignbridge District Council (TDC) brought brought a successful prosecution on a large amount of fly tipped rubbish on the pavement of West Cliff Road, Dawlish in June 2022.

FINAL preparations are underway to lift in place a new 26 metre bridge as part of work on the multi-million pound Dawlish link road. Work on phase one of the project from the A379 to Secmaton Farm involves building a new span bridge and 110m of carriageway on an embankment including footways and cycleways.

A Dawlish landlord has been ordered to pay nearly £1,000 for fly-tipping household waste from his rental property. Nolan Foley admitted dumping waste on the pavement of West Cliff Road, in June 2022, after evicting a tenant from their home.

MORE than 100 people have already been treated in just six days since the minor injuries unit in Dawlish reopened. Nursing bosses say that is the number of patients they have been able to treat since April 2 when the facility was able to open again after four years.

Cash and bank cards have been stolen from homes in South Devon during a string of burglaries. An appeal has been launched to find two men in connection with the thefts - and attempted thefts - in Teignmouth and Dawlish .

POLICE are appealing for information to identify two men in connection with a series of burglaries in Teignmouth and Dawlish. Two homes in Salisbury Terrace, Teignmouth and Richmond Place, Dawlish, were targeted on April 7 and March 26 respectively.
