DAWLISH Indoor Bowls Club held their annual celebration dinner and awards ceremony at the Langstone Cliff Hotel on Wednesday.

A DAWLISH businesswoman has raised more than £1,000 for a Cyprus-based animal rehoming charity. Chrissy Marks of Signature Hair and Beauty in Dawlish has raised close to £1,200 off the back of a fund-raising campaign for Saving Pound Dogs Cyprus (SPDC).

TWO Dawlish Coasters went to Wales to take on Newport Marathon on Sunday. In a field of 2102 runners, Jade King finished in 460th position in a time of 3:25:47, which was a 26-minute personal best.

DAWLISH Bowls Club held their President’s Day on Sunday, April 28, the first formal event of the season for members. The current and past Presidents sponsor an open competition, also providing a buffet after play has concluded.

The clothes are bagged up and donated to Cancer Research UK. On average, each bag raises £35 for the charity. The consultants, who have groups in Dawlish, Kingsteignton, Newton Abbot, Bovey Tracey and Ashburton, say they are thrilled with the results. Water safety concerns at a mental health hospital in Devon have resulted in patients and staff needing to rely on supplies of bottled water since March. Issues with the water supply at secure physiatric facility Langdon Hospital in Dawlish are still yet to be resolved.

ST MARY’S Hall in Dawlish Warren was a hive of activity as it recently hosted an event celebrating Teignbridge’s ‘Wildlife Wardens’. Cllr Jane Taylor and Cllr Janet Bradford were also in attendance, the former descrying the event as ‘fascinating, informative and a resounding success’.

A SUPERMARKET chain wants to open dozens of stores across Devon, including two locations in Teignbridge. Newton Abbot and Dawlish appear on the list, as well as several other locations across Devon and Cornwall.

@1263 We might have had a Town Council by-election after J Petherick resigned, but as 10 or more electors didn't write to the Council submitting statutory requests for an election they'll just co-opt somebody. That's if anyone is actually interested in local politics, has any confidence in it and wants to serve on a Council dominated by Wrigley. Crime Commissioners are a waste of time, money ...
