Someone is going to have to protect those villages, towns along the route from Starcross to Teignmouth. I don't think there will be two lots of money available to cover what is suggested and to protect what is protected now. Money from the government is normally only thrown in one direction. But time will tell!
It has to avoid Dawlish you cant keep chucking money at it ...needs to be a reliable line at the moment it is not.. this weekend is the last straw for many..
Could it be hollow talk ,not so sure. if they do take the inland route instead of the present it could happen that the railway line could be abandoned to nature. Will they keep repairing this line every two or three years, it won't make sense unless the answer is very drastic.
