A DRIVER was rescued from an overturned car in Dawlish by passers by. The accident happened on Sunday afternoon on the A379 on Teignmouth Hill near Westcliff Drive. Onlookers reported the car had flipped and was on its roof.

A RARE Chilean plant has come into flower in Dawlish. More commonly found on arid hillsides in the Andes, this one lives in the Badlake Close garden of Derek Bryant and his wife Jackie. Derek says the flowers of the Puja Chilensis have come as a ‘total surprise’.

SUNDAY 26th May was the first of four Charity Days at Dawlish Bowling Club of 2024. The day promised a high turnout with many of the usual teams hoping to enter on the day. 10am was the start time but proceedings got underway a little late due to the first of a few heavy showers.

An American car show featuring more than 200 classic vehicles is returning to a Devon holiday park next month. The event at Cofton Holidays near Dawlish is now in its seventh year and is billed as the biggest American car show in the South West.

DAWLISH Warren beach is flying high with its latest Blue Flag award, an achievement it has held now for 26 consecutive years. However, Teignmouth, along with Ness beach at Shaldon, Dawlish main beach and Coryton Cove will retain their Seaside Awards.

TEIGNBRIDGE Council has admitted charging the NHS to use council-owned car parks for mobile health  screening units. National supermarket chains Sainsbury’s and Morrisons have come up trumps allowing the siting of a breast cancer screening unit in its car parks in Dawlish and Teignmouth.

Cruise down to Cofton Holidays near Dawlish for the annual American Car Show from the 21st – 23rd June 2024. 3500 visitors will enjoy the weekend festival, with the chance to see over 200 different classic American cars including Mustangs, Cadillacs, Chevrolets, Pontiacs, Buicks and Jeeps.

ORGANISERS of Dawlish Community Larder are appealing for support so they can double their money. The scheme, which helps families and individuals in Dawlish with essential supplies, has launched a Crowdfunder campaign to raise £10,000 through a national insurance company which promises to match fund, pound for pound.

DAWLISH Coasters had a successful day at the Winding Paths Wray Trail events on Sunday. Amy Brown ran the Wray Trail 10k - Amy finished in 56:58 which is a Personal Best- she was the 3rd ranked female and finished 5th overall.
