Rescuers from several emergency response agencies were called out to a popular seaside town following reports of an "urgent medical incident". RNLI lifeboat volunteers from Exmouth joined colleagues from HM Coastguard, Devon and Cornwall Police, the ambulance and Devon Air Ambulance services and coastguard rescue teams following the incident near Dawlish.

LINDA Mortimore, of Dawlish, was part of the Great Britain team that took part in the European Dragon Boat Championships in Czechia recently. A dragon boat is a long, narrow boat seating 10 or 20 paddlers, side by side.
