A man has been jailed after he spat at police and ambulance crews who were called to reports of a woman being attacked. Officers from the British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the tracks at Starcross station near Teignbridge in South Devon around 12.30pm today. "Officers are now working to identify the person and inform their family. An effort to raise money for waterfowl in Dawlish has been set up following the unexplained death of black swan cygnet. Neil Salter, founder of Dawlish Beach Cams, said: "Sadly we do not know how he died as he was missing for over a week and was under a bridge for some time." A man was pronounced dead on the railway tracks between Exeter and Dawlish last night, British Transport Police has confirmed.
