Network Rail are only trying to pull the wool over the publics eyes by asking local and district councils for planning consent. They dont need it, its just a publicity exercise. They are financed and planning approved by national government they can basically do what they want with Dawlish station and the sea wall and this right dosent just apply to Dawlish. It doesn't matter if local planning says NO. This project is backed by the government and if it goes all the way to appeal to the top for a decision to go forward. You can bet your bottom dollar it will be built. Slowly the people of the UK are realising their freedoms and rights are being severely eroded just like our coast line.

The project for that end of the sea wall is completely over the top! They are creating a concrete jungle which will destroy the look and ambience of the whole area. The stretch of sea wall that went down in 2014 has been rebuilt and is resiliant and they don't really need to do much more. But, having been given a zillion pound budget from Goverment, of course they will spend it on needless ...

Due to Covid-19, four minor injury units have been closed in Devon for five months Due to difficulties sustaining staffing levels at Dawlish and Totnes Community Hospitals MIU units, a decision was made to 'temporarily' close them as of March 19. Last week Network Rail apologised for not having it ready in time - now the the work is done.
