Devon County Council has bought 100 pay-and-display parking meters at a cost of £290,000, despite being in the process of a public consultation. A lot of the new meters would replace some old ones. Police are warning dog owners to keep their dogs under control after two dogs have been destroyed after livestock were killed in the Teignbridge area. Other sheep in the Dawlish, Kenton and Easton have also been mained on farm land.
Exeter Crown Court were told a diary claimed to contain details of a major cocain trafficking ring. The accused Mathew Deny aged 46 was said to have used his Dawlish based furniture firm as a front for the £1.8 million drugs operation. The man pleaded not guilty to possessing a knife in a public place in Exeter at an earlier hearing at the Crown Court in October. According to the BBC, a further nine Stokes greengrocers have closed across the South West after failing to attract a buyer.
