The petition is a typical knee-jerk reaction.  How, practically five-minutes after the accident, does the originator of the petition know that speed is a factor? Where they there or are they making an assumption based upon the tittle-tattle of contributors from Facebook?

Isn't there a zebra crossing there? Also, are kids taught about road safety these days or do they expect everyone to stop in an instant when they cross the road where they want while looking at something extremely important on their phone!

Posting now on Eyes of Dawlish from town councillor Rosie Dawson. She says she intends putting the issue of road safety around the area of Elm Grove and Exeter Road on the agenda at the next town council meeting due to be held in February.
