Thought that everyone knew this would happen. The previous play park was set on fire at least twice and other vandalism/dangerous littering numerous times. Pointless to build a really good facility there without protecting it with a really good (and copiously signed) CCTV system. Sorry to state 'The Bleedin' Obvious' but it was built by our tax money.
Sadly, our day started on a disappointing note. Unfortunately the new play park in the Manor Gardens was vandalised last night. Perspex windows in the train were smashed and the area was filled with litter, in addition to several swings being swung around the frames rendering them unusable. The Play Park is now open for the children to use. It is lovely to hear so much laughter and to see so many children using the play park

Good progress is being made with the Play Area at the Manor Gardens which is set to open around mid-February, with an official opening being held on 4 March. We invite you to join the Mayor of Dawlish for the ribbon cutting ceremony at 2.30 p.m. at the Play Park in the Manor Gardens.
A thread was running on Eyes of Dawlish earlier today concerning child minders in Dawlish. It seems we now only have two childminders in Dawlish and two in Starcross. All four are full.
