Election 2015
5 Apr 2015

@Soul. It's up to you and your competitors to persuade me   :)

Our electoral system may yet throw up surprises - but I wouldn't rule out one of the big two deciding to shoulder on as a minority government for some months and then (heaven help us) there will be a second election in search of a more conclusive result.

@Mcjrpc Yes, all the people listed are members of the town council Planning Committee, except for Cllr Burrowes who resigned some months ago when she realised that her work commitments were clashing with the dates of the planning committee.   The Mayor and Deputy Mayor are automatically members too. @Soul I understand the point you make.   As you know, planning decisions are made upon ...

Hi Lynne There was a mix up in the admin section at TDC which meant that the application wasn't listed in the weekly application list sent out by Teignbridge.   This is used within the town council office to prepare the DTC planning agenda, which meant that it never was put before the town council planning committee. The DTC planning committee have used the opportunity of the planning ...

@Lynne Have you seen this? http://lordashcroftpolls.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/LORD-ASHCROFT-POLLS-Con-Lib-Dem-battleground-June-2014.pdf As far as I know, this is the last time Ashcroft polled in Newton Abbot.   It's obviously old data now, so the question may be how far people's intentions are likely to have changed since then? Even so, I think most longstanding observers will feel a greater effort has been made to improve communications and involvement

Planning Application

There is a TDC led working party that is supposed to be planning a new Bandstand, but as mentioned on previous posts it hasn't met for a year now.  You could send your suggestion about Great Storm related public art to Mr Tony Watson at TDC

30 Mar 2015

I'm not hearing a great clamour around the town for a public art project on the lawn, and if there is I would still suggest anyone who wants to organise it should speak directly to Planning Officers to avoid any confusion.

30 Mar 2015

Why would Dawlish Town Council do that ?  It is not planning any public art projects. Far better that anyone planning such a project ask the planners directly.  Direct communication is always better A separate and equally important consideration is whether TDC estates department would give consent as a Landowner, whatever the planning position.  Most importantly - what do the people of ...
